Why coaching?

“Coaching is partnering in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires a person to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

Four keys to understanding coaching

1. You set the course

In coaching, you get to focus on what matters most to you. You are the expert in your life. The coaching process revolves around what you desire to pursue. Perhaps it is clarity in your given situation, discovering what you are passionate about, or greater confidence in who you are. You set the course of the goal, and your coach helps you get there.

2. Coaches help you get there

If you are the expert in your life, the coach is the expert in the process. It is our role to create a safe environment for you to discover and focus on your goals. Coaches hold to the conviction of “ask, don’t tell.” We ask powerful questions to draw out and explore new solutions, obstacles, perspectives, and passions. We are here for encouragement and accountability to the goals you have set.

3. Coaching is not therapy or mentoring

A mentor provides subject matter expertise, wisdom, and guidance based on their own experiences.

Therapy deals with healing pain, trauma, dysfunction, or conflict of some kind, typically to resolve difficulties that impair an individual’s emotional health and psychological functioning.

By contrast, coaching focuses on facilitating individuals or groups to draw upon their own experiences and capabilities to set and reach their objectives.

4. Coaching is going to get you where you need to be.

Coaching isn’t reserved for people who need “help” in life.

If you feel you are doing well, you can still challenge yourself to continue growing. A coach will help keep you developing your personal goals and staying focused.

Imagine professional athletes. They have coaches to help improve their performance even when they are at their best.

”Working with Ashley was a true gift. She is an incredible coach—a person of character, full of grace and wisdom. I was running on survival mode, unable to be fully present for myself and for those close to me. By the end of our sessions, I found myself with greater self-awareness, embracing growth, and equipped with tools to thrive with greater intentionality.”
