Coaching roadmap

“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tiptoe if you must, but take a step.”

Naeem Callaway, Founder/CEO of Get Out The Box, Inc.

How to get started

Step 1

Check it out for yourself

Get in touch with us to schedule your free 30-min Discovery Session. We will explore your desire and goals. See it for yourself if coaching is right for you and if we are a good match. Take a step toward a change and see where it takes you.

Experience coaching personally

Step 2

If coaching might be an option and we seem like a good fit, let us partner with you in a thought-provoking and creative process to maximize your personal and professional potential.

One size does not fit all. We will work with you to design a personalized coaching plan for your specific need.

Step 3

Life long development perspective

It is exciting to see a short-term goal achieved and gain situational clarity. But how do we aim to see lasting transformational change? Let’s talk about how coaching can help with on going development in life.

Coaching process

1. Discovery session

    • Discuss your desired outcome

    • Review coaching options

    • Consider a personalized coaching plan

    • Duration: 30 min

2. Overall goal-setting session

    • Identify an overall goal for the current coaching series

    • Review coaching agreement

    • Determine # of sessions needed for a current series

    • Duration: 60 - 75 min

3. Individual session

    • One-on-one coaching session around the client's goal

    • Deepening & widening understanding of the current situation

    • Action steps determined

    • Building progress and momentum from the previous session

    • Duration: 45 - 60 min

4. Final reflection

    • Celebration of achievements and growth

    • Reflect on final insights and learning from the current coaching series

    • Identify ways to continue to move forward

    • Duration: 45 - 60 min

5. Rinse and repeat 1 to 4

    • Contract again to pursue another goal

    • Return to Step 2 and repeat Step 2 - 4

6. Touch point sessions

    • Meet with a coach for a touch point on progress

    • Frequency: determined by the client (monthly, quarterly, on a specific date, etc.)

Tips for success

    • Be willing to experiment with fresh approaches and be open to redesigning some parts of your life

    • Come prepared by reflecting before and after the session

    • Prioritize working on yourself and goals outside of sessions

  • Typically sessions are 45 min to 60 min. During that time you as the client come ready with the agenda and what you want to work on. During the hour, the coach will help draw out deeper discoveries around the agenda, potential obstacles, and solutions. Finally, the session will end with you walking away with clear action steps (that you thought of) to keep pursuing your goals.

  • Check coaches’ credentialing for coaching. ICF accreditation is the gold standard for coaching.

Book a free consultation with a coach. Chat with them. Do you connect well? Does the coach make you feel at ease? Do you feel comfortable and safe? Try to interview multiple coaches to see which one is the best fit.

Does the coach offer what you are looking for? What’s the reason why you are seeking a coach? Know how coaching differs from mentorship and therapy.
